Patterns of avian species richness and assemblage composition may change markedly between and within vegetation types. We compared bird species richness and assemblage composition in cool temperate rainforest and Mountain Ash (Eucalyptus regnans) forest in the Central Highlands of Victoria, south-eastern Australia.
