Various mechanisms of controlling optical nonlinearity in organometallics: wide wavelength range studies

Green, Katy; Corkery, Timothy; Cifuentes, Marie; Humphrey, Mark; Samoc, Marek

Description

We are investigating various ways of switching the cubic optical nonlinearity of organometallics between different states. These switching events can be classified as nonlinear chromisms: the nonlinear optical analogues of well-known effects such as electrochromism, photochromism etc. We review here the most important results obtained by us so far.
