Cutting-in station, Raw Sugar Room, Pyrmont Refinery
|Date created:||ca. 1930s|
At the 'cutting-in’ station bags of raw sugar are opened by cutting the binding twine holding the mouth of the bag. The contents are then poured through a grill in the floor, on to a conveyor to be taken to the refining process.
