The Fosdick Mountains migmatite-granite complex in West Antarctica records episodes of crustal melting and plutonism in Devonian-Carboniferous time that acted to transform transitional crust, dominated by immature oceanic turbidites of the accretionary margin of East Gondwana, into stable continental crust.
