Solomon Islands is a scattered archipelago comprising hundreds of mountainous islands and low-lying coral atolls in the south-west Pacific. The six largest islands are Choiseul, New Georgia, Santa Isabel, Guadalcanal, Malaita and San Cristobal (Makira).
