A photograph of a section of the architects' plans for the rebuilding of the Beach Hotel. The Beach Hotel was purchased by Tooth & Company in February 1936. On completion of rebuilding in 1937 the hotel was a two storeyed brick structure with a fully tiled ground floor exterior and a corrugated fibro roof. The architectural style is known as P. & O. Ship Style because of its similarities to ocean liner forms.

Other records relating to this hotel are available at the Archives. This image is the only one referring to the Beach Hotel, Newcastle in this album. It is possible that this image was included with photographs of the Beach Hotel, Merewether, Newcastle because of a confusion arising from the name of the architectural firm, Pitt & Merewether on the plans for rebuilding.
