View of stools in front of a curved linoleum-topped bar faced in a pattern made of two sizes of tile. The room features tiled trim and walls, mirror-backed shelves, chromed edgings, a linoleum and tile floor and a streamlined cornice treatment. In the background can be seen a telephone, a wall fan and through a doorway, tables and chairs. The Beach Hotel was purchased by Tooth & Company in March 1921. On completion of rebuilding in 1941 the hotel was a two storeyed brick structure with a fully tiled ground floor exterior and a tile roof. The architectural style is known as P. & O.
