Description

Photonic crystal (PhC) nanocavities have attracted much attention recently for their high-Q, low-volume resonances, with applications in optical switching, cavity quantum electrodynamics, sensing, and many others. While the highest Q-factors have been reported in 2D planar photonic crystal cavities, interest has been growing in 1D waveguide nanocavities [1]. These offer many benefits over 2D cavities, including ease of design and fabrication, small size, and the ability to confine light in...[Show more]
