Storing quantum information in a solid using dark state polaritons

The analysis of Fleischhauer and Lukin was extended by considering the behavior of dark-state polaritons in a solid medium. An investigation of the possibility of using a solid medium to store few-photon laser pulses as coupled excitations between light and matter was presented.
