Molecular fossils from organically preserved Ediacara biota reveal cyanobacterial origin for Beltanelliformis
The Ediacara biota (~575-541 million years ago) mark the emergence of large, complex organisms in the palaeontological record, preluding the radiation of modern animal phyla.
