Description
Several scholars portray Thai provincial strongmen as having character traits associated with nakleng - 'tough guys' - who are violent and ruthless toward enemies, but generous and compassionate toward supporters. Banharn Silpa-archa, the strongman of Suphanburi province, does not fit the description however.
