Description: Professor Forge and Mrs Phyl Turner examine an artefact from the Sepik river area of New Guinea. Professor Forge encouraged Mrs Turner, a 76 year old who had less than three years of primary schooling and no secondary schooling at all, to complete a Litt. B with majors in anthropology and Classics. Mrs Turner, having had careers as a nurse, housewife and mother, graduated in 1988.
