Description: Senior Fellow, David Ingle Smith, has studied urban flood damage in Australia to meet a major need for reliable estimates of tangible and intangible damage. This work forms part of CRES studies of the Environment and Society. The flood damage study also examines a range of mitigation options. These houses illustrate a response of individual householders to flood hazard in Lismore, N.S.W.
