Description: | Artabanus V, the last Parthian king is being trampled underfoot by Ardashir. Ahura Mazda, holding his emblem, the barsam bundle, in his left hand, is here for the first time at an investiture on a horse, under which is Ahriman, god of darkness. He hands over the diadem, symbol of royal power, to Ardashir, whose crown is surmounted by the korymbos, acquiring here its definitive form. Page holding fly-whisk.
