Description: A native of Shan-yin in Chekiang (Zhejiang). Under emperor Hsiao Tsung (Xiaozong) in 1163 he was made Compiler for the Privy Council and had the honorary degree of chin shih (jinshi) conferred on him. He was not very successful in official life, but an excellent poet. he was employed on the dynastic history and a collection of his writings was published under the title wei-nan wen chi.
