Description: Rice straw is stripped of its external covering, cut into lengths of three feet, bound into bundles which are placed on the shelves. About a week after the final sleep the larvae develop a sheen on the first three segments which is a sign that they are ready for the cocoon stage. Now they are placed on the spinning shelves allowing ample space between each.
