The compound eye
Horridge, George Adrian; Blest, David
Description
Those who predict the course of events have traditionally been given high status, whether as magician, military tactician or investment analyst, but no word exists to distinguish the scientific prophet. That should warn us that his predictions have not, on the whole, proved effectual. Whatever his qualifications.to make them he must be granted innnunity from the consequences, for their outcome is likely to be laughter and consignment to the waste paper basket before the ink is dry.
