Propargylidyne and tricarbido complexes

Manzano, Richard; Hill, Anthony

Description

Propargylidynes, LnM ≡ C-C ≡ CR, represent a special sub-class of carbyne complexes in which metal-carbon and carbon-carbon triple bonds are conjugated. Tricarbido complexes may be considered as a sub-class of propargylidynes in which the substituent “R” is a second metal center. In this review we comprehensively survey the chemistry of propargylidyne and tricarbido complexes up to October 2018, including points where their respective chemistries converge.
