Wavelength-scale stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) waveguides are enabling novel on-chip functionalities. The microscale and nanoscale SBS structures and the complexity of the SBS waveguides require a characterization technique to monitor the local geometry-dependent SBS responses along the waveguide.
