Description: Spouse of Visnu, but less important than the spouse of Siva. Goddess of wealth and good fortune, she is often depicted as seated on a lotus and attended by two white elephants, who are sometimes portrayed as sprinkling her with water from their trunks. Her function as bestower of fortune and abundance is emphasized by the gold coins which she is scattering
