These small stone images of snakes (Nagas) have been placed around this tree by women praying for children. Other women have worshipped the Nagas, putting colored powders, flowers, holy water and clarified butter on the snake images. A woman seeking to have a child would offer her petition to the Nagas and then walk around the tree, with the right side toward the images. In front of the tree is an image of Ganesa the elephant-headed god, with the mouse, his vehicle, just in front looking up at him. In the left foreground is an image of Nandi, the bull associated with Siva, and usually placed facing a Siva linga.
