Description: Probably painted in the South Indian city of Hyderabad, the portrait has the dreamy tenderness and lyrical charm characteristic of the Deccani tradition. The painting has the linear delicacy of the Persian tradition, the naturalistic treatment of the Mughal style, and the sensuous warmth of the Indian tradition.
