Description: The figures are dressed in the Muslim style, in turbans and coats with long skirts. The seated figure is smoking a hookah
his attendant stands respectfully behind him. Beyond, the river and fields stretch out into the distance, under a blue and purple sky. A provincial work, the painting shows Mughal influence but lacks the refined colour harmonies and the exquisite finish of the imperial Mughal style.
