Description: | Akbar built this fortress with its approximately semi-circular outline, along the Jumna river, not only for the defence of the town but also to live in. It has nearly 1000 yards of walls, is 70 feet high and is built from well-dressed stone blocks it has a profusion of towers. It is surrounded by a wide moat which draws its water from the river. |
