Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) affects ~30% of the world population with similar or higher prevalence in Australia. The pathology of NAFLD ranges from benign simple steatosis (SS) to non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), with fibrosis that can progress to cirrhosis.
