Description: The temple in its turn becomes a mandapa with several entrances and extremely elaborate pillars. The pillar in the foreground consists of 16 small columns which differ slightly in width and height and on which the priests used to knock and produce sounds that were re-echoed by the vaulting. The porch roofs become virtual entablatures. The temple is still built on a base of considerable height.
