This shrine was dedicated to the son of the god Siva and his consort Paravati [sic], the God Ganesha, who possessed the head of an elephant. Structurally, it makes use of three elements borrowed from the previous shrines: the capstone imitates the thatched roof of the Bhima shrine
dc.descriptionthe horizontally stacked roof beneath the capstone resembles that on the Arjan shrine
dc.descriptionand the solid wall supporting the roof, with its simple pillared decoration, is on the order of the Sahadeva Nakula Rath. The result is a much loftier effect and more elaborate use of individual decorational motifs as compared to any of te previous Raths. More variety is present in the employment of the chaitya window motif, for example, it not only appears in new areas on the roof, but varies in size according to area as well.
