Erected in 1162 by Pratopa Rudra, this is similar to that of Somnathpur and has three shrines dedicated to Siva, Visnu and Surya. Its general plan is that of a tau-cross, with a shrine in each arm. A great pavilion, or mandapa, rises in front of the temple and is completely separated from it. Between the mandapa and the shrines is a Nandin temple. Only the carving of Nandin has remained more or less undecorated. The temple, built of granite, is almost undecorated. The temple measures about 100' by 82' and, like the Hoysala Temple, stands on a platform which follow[s] the lines of the temple. It was never finished, which is the reason for the lack of decoration and the absence of towers.
