|Description:||The pillars support beams, forming coffers on which the sculptured ceilings rest. Each column bears a different decoration from the others, generally formed by longitudinal bands crossed by transverse mouldings. The base of each column consists simply of a square-section block of stone. These columns are generally cut from a single block of polished sand-stone.|
