Book Review- 'The Fate of the Earth’: Daniel Ellsberg and the Doomsday Machine

Van Ness, Peter

Description

We remember Daniel Ellsberg as the courageous whistle blower who liberated what became “The Pentagon Papers” – the internal U.S. Defense Department history of the Vietnam War that showed how U.S. leaders had lied about the war to the American people. Barely avoiding a long term in jail, Ellsberg helped to end the U.S. role in Vietnam and, less directly, the presidency of Richard Nixon.
