Structure, function and genetic diversity of glucosyltransferase IV (GtrIV) of Shigella flexneri

There are 15 known S. flexneri serotypes, which differ in their virulence, prevalence, distribution and the nature of their O-antigens. The three bacteriophage genes gtrA, gtrB and gtr(type) are responsible for O-antigen glucosylation in Shigella flexneri.
