Submillimetre Observations of Low Ionization BAL Quasars
We present the first results of a programme of multi wavelength study of a sample of Low Ionization Broad Absorption Line Quasars (LIBALs) taken from the Large Bright Quasar Survey (LBQS). We make no clear detections, but coadding the data for all six observed objects yields a tantalizing 1.8σ result. We discuss the role of the Large Southern Array for future studies of the relationship between quasars and galaxies.
