The evidence for large-scale structure at high redshifts is reviewed. I conclude that massive Mpc scale galaxy clusters probably exist at z > 2.
The 2139–4430 galaxy cluster at redshift 2.38 is discussed as a case study. This remarkable cluster may consist of ~ 10 Ly-α emitting galaxies, and as many as 100 other, less active galaxies, selected by a novel near-IR photometric technique.
