A Russian in Kelantan?
A fascinating addition to the international field of Southeast Asian scholarship has recently come from an enthusiastic group of pioneers in Russia. 1 In the historical field the most notable is Elizaveta lvanovna Gnevusheva, lecturer in Indonesian history at the University of Moscow. Her article last year in the learned Dutch journal the Bijdragen2 marks the recognition that her work is not of significance to Russians only.
