Yevgenii Shvarts and his drama, studied against the background of Soviet literature 1929-1975
Yevgenii L'vovich Shvarts was a doctor's son, born in southern Russia in 1896. During the First World War, the Revolution and the subsequent Civil War he was a student, first in Moscow and then in Rostov-na-Donu, where he joined an amateur theatre troupe and in 1921 went with them to Leningrad (then Petrograd), where the troupe soon broke up and dispersed.
