The Nduindui : a study in the social structure of a New Hebridean community
Description
The Nduindui are a community of about 1,500 persons who live in the north-west comer of Aoba island in the northern New Hebrides* In this thesis I give a descriptive analysis of the social structure, with special reference to environmental adaptation, deviant behaviour, individual autonomy and other associated aspects of what can be best termed structural 'looseness' or 'flexibility'.
