The parables of a Samoan divine : an analysis of Samoan texts of the 1860's
The aim of this thesis is the interpretation and analysis of religious parables written by a Samoan pastor of the London Missionary Society in the early 1860’s. The approach adopted is essentially a hermeneutic one involving linguistic analysis at three different levels: semiotic (word), semantic (sentence) and text (hermeneutic).
