The main purpose of this thesis is to report on the measurements of heat flux made in several localities in the Australian continent. Before such an expensive and time consuming survey is undertaken it is reasonable to consider the possible value of the work in providing evidence to confirm or reject existing theories in geophysios or to evoke some new conjectures.
