Biodiversity surrogates

Description

The use of surrogates and indicators is important because it is impossible to measure, manage and conserve all elements of biota in all ecosystems and at all times. In this chapter, we outline 10 major development, problems and opportunities associated with the identification and application of biodiversity surrogates.
