Eureka in the 80s
History and nationalism were everywhere in the 1980s. So where does Eureka fit into all of this history making? My argument is that Eureka's 190s course was shaped by developments in historical consciousness and nationalist imagining. Eureka figured in a minor role in the upsurge of popular engagement with the Australian past associated with the period leading up to the Bicentenary.
