Description: | Authors, Jim Gibbney and Mr Eric Sparke were awarded scholarships by the Department of Territories and Local Government to pursue a PhD course in the ANU's Department of History to write a History of Canberra. They were later joined by local historian Lyall Gillespie. Canberra 1820-1913 / Lyall Gillespie, Canberra 1913-1953 / Jim Gibbney and Canberra 1954-1980 / Eric Sparke were launched in 1988 as part of Canberra's 75th anniversary celebrations. |
