Sequential monitoring of hospital adverse events when control charts fail: the example of fall injuries in hospitals

OBJECTIVE To evaluate methods for monitoring monthly aggregated hospital adverse event data that display clustering, non-linear trends and possible autocorrelation. DESIGN Retrospective audit.
