Caspase-dependent inhibition of mousepox replication by gzmB

BACKGROUND Ectromelia virus is a natural mouse pathogen, causing mousepox. The cytotoxic T (Tc) cell granule serine-protease, granzyme B, is important for its control, but the underlying mechanism is unknown.
