Chemical abundances in globular clusters
Abstract
The Milky Way globular clusters are ideal laboratories for testing the predictions of nuclear astrophysics. Driven by Hubble Space Telescope photometry and high-resolution multi-object spectro-graphs on 8m-class telescopes, the study of chemical abundances in globular clusters is a vibrant area of astronomical research. These studies are providing new insights into stellar evolution, stellar nucleosynthesis and nuclear astrophysics. These data are also presenting new challenges to stellar nucleosynthesis and the chemical evolution of these ancient stellar clusters.
