Humanism, a system or mode of thought or action in which human interests, values, and dignity predominate, is at the core of healthcare (Thibault, 2019). Modern changes to curricula, teaching approaches, and medical practice itself threaten the humanistic practice of healthcare (Rider et al., 2018).
