Abstract

The authors regret that there was a calculation error in the used heathland example. The error had the consequence that the spatial aggregation parameter [Formula presented] was underestimated. After correcting the error, the estimated values in Table 1, and the ordination plots (Fig. 2) differed. Noticeably, the conclusion of the effect of management has changed slightly: for the aggregated data set of five species classes (Fig. 2, A), the unmanaged treatment is now no longer significantly different from either the harvested or burnt treatment. The main ecological conclusion, i.e. plant species composition on dry heathland shifts significantly with grazing is still strongly supported by the data.
