Abstract

This autobiographical chapter by Alywarre cultural heritage advocate provides an overview of his time as a community activist, and specialist in repatriation of ancestral remains and material cultures in Australia. He discusses his involvement in the World Archaeological Congress and provides insights into a varied career that has included working for the business sector, Aboriginal community organisations, as well as being both a consultant and an academic. He discusses working for Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and organisations to promote cultural heritage preservation and the inter-generational transfer of traditional aboriginal knowledges through new technologies.
