Abstract

Digitally enhanced interferometry enables the simultaneous interrogation of multiple displacement sensors. We utilize this multiplexing technique to simultaneously measure three sections of an optical fiber with displacement resolutions of ~200 pm and low crosstalk between channels. We further improve the displacement sensitivity of our system at low frequencies by implementing a differential measurement between multiple sensors to suppress noise due to laser frequency fluctuations.
