Abstract

SUMMARY: Cyclic incomplete block designs are interpreted as row and column designs and used to define a class of cyclic superimposed designs which exist for any number of treatments and column size. The analysis is presented for two sets of treatments but may be generalized for further sets. Earlier work on the structure of cyclic designs is extended for this class of designs. A table of selected designs is given for 6-15 treatments in column sizes of 4, 5 and 6. Many of these designs are smaller than existing ones yet their efficiencies are comparable.
