dc.description.abstractA series of 20 cationic vinylidene complexes of ruthenium and osmium [M(CCRR')(L)(L')(-C5H5)]+ (R = Me, Ph, C6H4F-4, C6F5, (CH2)2C2H; R'=Me, CH2Ph, CH2CH=CH2, CH2C≡CH, (CH2)Br; L, L' = PPh3, CNBUt, dppm, dppe; not all combinations), [(Ru(CCRCH2-)(PPh3)2(-C5H5))2]2+ and [CH2(CPhCRu(PPh3)2(-C5H5))2]2+ have been obtained from reactions between the metal acetylide complexes and the appropriate organic halides.en
